Philadelphia Executive Women’s Consultant and Speaker Judy Belmont Offers Tips to Overcome Fears and Be Happier
“Each of us has the ability to find within ourselves the seeds of resilience to overcome obstacles, rise to life challenges, and convert failures into success,” said executive women’s business consultant Judy Belmont, who is also a psychotherapist and wellness expert.
“Life has holes, and it’s how you get through them that counts,” said Belmont, co-author of a new book, The Swiss Cheese Theory of Life: How to Get Through Life’s Holes Without Getting Stuck In Them! “Instead of wishing the holes away in our lives, the book’s ten self-help slices show readers how to get through life’s pitfalls without getting stuck in them.”
Empowering people to transform negativity into optimism and turning obstacles into opportunities for growth underlie Belmont’s message, which she has shared as keynote motivational speaker at conferences and various workplace settings from small businesses and Fortune 500 companies.
“In fact, it is the holes in our lives that give us character and make our life rich in meaning, just as the larger the holes in the Swiss, the sweeter the taste of the cheese. Thus, we need holes in our lives to become who we are, and this book shows us the way to navigate them successfully,” said Belmont, a motivational keynote speaker who has also presented at Governor’s Conferences and Women’s Expos. Her primary focus has been to offer practical, “hands-on” strategies to boost emotional resilience, self-empowerment, and improve communication, enhancing personal and workplace wellness.
Her websites features short video instructions and motivational tips on such topics as

“We have in our power the ability to create a positive life, no matter what comes our way,” she says.
Here is a sample of the tips from her book she offers to help you move on from your life’s holes:
- Realize that fondue can never turn back into a block of cheese: Don’t waste time reworking yesterday by learning the keys to transform unproductive regret to productive regret.
- Be flexible: To get yourself out of a hole, you need to embrace different ways of thinking and behaving that might not be comfortable at first.
- Monitor your thoughts: Examine what you are thinking. Let go of irrational or destructive thoughts. Let them expire like a stinky cheese.
- Accept your holes: The disappointments in your life do not need to define you, but they can add to your character if you see lessons in them. See the wholeness in the hole.
- Enjoy the cheese party: Seek the company and support of healthy thinkers.
- No whine with that cheese: Practice gratitude and optimism. Be thankful for the beauty that surrounds you. There is always hope!
“This book shows you how to take complete control of your thoughts and emotions, and live a wonderful life!,” said Brian Tracy, International Motivational Speaker and Author of No Excuses! The Power of Self-Discipline.
“In today’s complicated and challenging society, we often struggle to make sense of the bad hand that life sometimes deals us. The ‘Swiss Cheese Theory of Life’ offers a simple, yet compelling guide to follow in achieving personal transformation. This book offers a refreshing approach to helping us ‘reshuffle the deck’ and tap into that inner resilience that we need to achieve a more fruitful existence. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is contemplating changing their life,” said Frank M. Dattilio, Ph.D., Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School.
