About Me
I am the author of 11 mental health books and two therapeutic card decks focusing on providing counseling professionals, therapy clients, and self-help readers practical tips and tools for mental health and wellness. My books offer therapists and their clients, as well as self-help readers, practical solutions to deal with common problems such as low self-esteem, depression, anxiety and relationship issues.
110 TIPS and Tools for the CBT Toolbox, which will be released in January, 2025, is the fifth book in my therapeutic TIPS series published by PESI, which also includes 150 More Group Therapy Activities and TIPS and 86 TIPS for the Therapeutic Toolbox. In the five Tips and Tools series I offer various mental health worksheets, psycho-educational handouts, activities and visualizations to improve communication, stay positive, think more rationally, develop more self-compassion and mindfulness, and improve stress management skills. The focus of my books, coaching and presentations are based on widely accepted therapeutic modalities, primarily CBT, DBT, ACT and Positive Psychology.
Retired from a private therapy practice after 40 years, I now offers mental health coaching online as well as monthly webinars on workplace communications.
I have decades of experience as a motivational speaker and trainer at organizations and conferences, offering keynotes and interactive presentations on wellness topics such as communication skills, stress management, creating a positive workplace, and burnout prevention. I enjoy being a radio and podcast guest on mental health issues.
I hold an MS in clinical psychology from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia and a BS in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. I currently live in Naples, FL, and South Jersey.
